Fall 2013 is on the way!

While Beverly and Bonnie held down the Sunbelt sales fort this summer, Roland visited parts of Europe and his native Holland. (A few photos from his trip are in a slideshow at the end of this post.)

Fall and Poinsettia info packets have been mailed to all customers. If our packet hasn't found your mailbox yet, please let us know.

Sunbelt is almost ready to begin shipping Fall product to all markets! The carts above – containing mums, Mighty 'Mato™ grafted tomatoes, dianthus, and fall herbs – were just transported to an IGC in Atlanta.

To get in the mood, take a peek at these photos (link goes to an album on SunbeltPhotos.com) taken last fall at Pike Nurseries. Also, be sure to check our emailed availability order forms for current photos of our inventory. In the meantime, below are a few more photos taken recently at Sunbelt.

And, a few of Roland's photos from Holland are below. Looks like he had a great trip!

Recycling at Sunbelt

Yesterday at Sunbelt Greenhouses, 27 pallets of used containers and trays were collected by East Jordan Plastics Inc., a Michigan-based manufacturing company that annually recycles more than 10 million pounds of plastic. To add to the green effort, the transportation of used plastic to Michigan takes place when Sunbelt receives a shipment of new containers for the upcoming season.

East Jordan’s goal is to recapture as many used horticultural containers as possible from the marketplace, including those from other manufacturers, and to make new containers with up to 100% recycled content. Sunbelt customers may recycle plastic from any grower by sending the used containers to Sunbelt when returning empty shipping carts.
